1. A staycation is affordable

Without having to splurge on airfare and all-inclusive resorts, you will likely find that a staycation is much cheaper than going abroad. It is much easier to control the costs on a staycation – because you know the country, its currency and the cost of things. You are also less likely to purchase needless souvenirs.

When heading on a vacation abroad you will likely need to pay for transport to the airport (or parking), food at the airport, your airfare and transportation to get you to your hotel on the other side.

2. A staycation is relaxed

Without the restrictions of set flight times etc. you may find that a staycation is much more relaxed than a vacation abroad. You simply rock up whenever you feel like it, take your time on the drive there and then check out whenever you are allowed on your last day.

3. You can stay in some great accommodation

When researching your staycation you will likely find there are too many great accommodation options for you to choose from. Whether you are looking to find holiday apartments with a hot tub, a quirky boutique hotel, or a secluded lodge, you are sure to be spoilt for choice.

Consider what you are looking for on your staycation and choose somewhere that will accommodate this.

4. It is a brilliant option for the whole family

A staycation is great for the whole family. You can find a big villa that will accommodate family members both old and young, or you can choose a hotel for a romantic getaway. As you can bring as much luggage as you want, you can take all your sports gear or board games if that is what you want to spend your trip doing.

The journey is as much fun as the destination

Without having to cram onto a busy flight and without the restrictions of a plane to catch, you can make the journey as much fun as the destination. You can stop off for lunch on the way, make some stop-offs to see some sights and so much more.

These are just a few reasons that a staycation is a great holiday option. It doesn’t matter if you decide to go for a few days, a weekend or a week, you are sure to enjoy it.

Be sure to pack a camera, decide on an itinerary before you go and don’t forget to pack for all weather conditions.
