So, you’re hoping to visit the famous Peppa Pig World in Hampshire, UK! Well, you’ve come to the right place; I visited with my toddler and baby a few months ago and had a blast! To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot – but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a very family-friendly theme park that’s easy to walk around, there’s lots of free parking that’s just a short walk from the entrance gate, and there are lots of great food options, too!
But before visiting Peppa Pig World, there are a few things you need to know – such as what time it opens, how much tickets cost, and what rides are there. That’s why I’ve put together this detailed guide to help you out and ensure you have the best time ever!
The first thing you’ll notice is the giant Peppa Pig and the music in the background – all Peppa Pig tunes, of course. When we entered, Bing Bong Zoo was playing, and I had it stuck in my head the whole time. I have to say, the songs are super catchy, aren’t they?!
So, let’s dive in, shall we? Here are 18 things you need to know before visiting Peppa Pig World!
P.S. My top tip is to download the Paulton’s Park app, to help you plan your day effectively. The app shows live queue times so you can decide what ride to go on next. Plus it has a helpful interactive map so that you won’t get lost and it also gives you access to retail and food offers!
18 Things You Need to Know Before Booking Peppa Pig World!
Before visiting Peppa Pig World in Hampshire, UK, there are a few things you need to know first. Such as how to get there, what age is best for it, and what times of the year it’s closed!
1. What is Peppa Pig World?
Located in Hampshire, England – Peppa Pig World is the world’s first and biggest Peppa Pig-themed amusement park! There is a Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida, which opened recently, but this blog post is all about the one in the UK!
Ideal for toddlers or any child with a fondness for the cheeky pink pig, Peppa Pig World boasts 9 fun rides as well as a splash park (named Muddy Puddles Splash Pad), a playground, and an indoor play center. Here, visitors also have the chance to meet lifesize versions of their favorite characters, such as Peppa, George, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig!
Peppa Pig World is part of the larger Paulton’s Theme Park, which is home to over 60 epic rides!

2. Where is Peppa Pig World?
Peppa Pig World is located just outside the village of Ower in New Forest National Park, Hampshire, England. The closest big city to Peppa Pig World is Southampton which is a 12-minute drive (9.3 miles) away. The city of Portsmouth also isn’t too far away at an hour’s drive!
It’s 73 miles from London to Peppa Pig World, so if you don’t fancy driving all that way yourself, your best option is to grab a train to Southampton Central and get a cab from there.
3. How do I get to Peppa Pig World?
The best way to get to Peppa Pig World is by car, as parking is free here. As I said, it’s just a 12-minute drive from Southampton and an hour’s drive from Portsmouth.
Southampton is a popular cruise ship destination, and if you’ve cruised into the city luckily you can book a shore excursion to Peppa Pig World. Note the price is for up to 6 people.
If you’re coming here by train from another city, then the closest train stations to the park are Southampton Airport Parkway and Southampton Central. From both stations, it will be a 15-minute taxi ride to Peppa Pig World. Or you can hop on another train to Romsey from the above stations and get a cab from there. This will save you a little money but will be more time-consuming!
If you’re coming from overseas, the closest airport to Peppa Pig World is Southampton Airport (SOU), which is 9.9 miles (or a 15-minute drive) away. You can catch a cab directly from the airport, or if you want to save a little money, hop on a train from the train station (Southampton Airport Parkway) to Romsey and catch a cab from there.
If you’re staying in London, your best bet is to hop on the train from London Waterloo to Southampton Central station. It runs regularly throughout the day. From Southampton Central, hop in a cab directly to the park or grab another train to Romsey and get a cheaper cab from there.

4. How much are tickets for Peppa Pig World?
Children under 1 meter are free, but for anyone over 1 meter, tickets cost £43.50 if you book in advance online or £55.50 on the day. The ticket to Peppa Pig World also gives you access to the larger Paulton’s Park.
You can also book short breaks at Peppa Pig World, which includes two nights at a nearby hotel as well as two days’ park access. This works out great value-for-money as the second park day is free!
Remember your kids will be measured with shoes upon entry, so make sure they’re under 1 meter while wearing shoes; otherwise, you’ll have to pay for them!
5. What are the opening hours for Peppa Pig World?
The opening hours for Peppa Pig World vary by season, but expect it to be open at 10/10:30 am and close at 5/ 5:30 pm.
To see the exact opening hours for Peppa Pig World, visit Paultons Park, which, as you know, is where Peppa Pig World is located.
6. How long do you need at Peppa Pig World?
If you can, I recommend allowing 2 days at Peppa Pig World as this will give you more time to explore both Peppa Pig World and the attached larger theme park Paulton’s Park. It will also be a less-rushed experience if you allow 2 days, and it gives you more time to spend in the playground, indoor play center, etc.
Plus, if you plan to visit at busy times of the year, i.e., weekends or school holidays, I highly advise allowing 2 days as you’ll spend a lot of time queuing.
7. Can you do Peppa Pig World in one day?
Yes, you can do Peppa Pig World in 1 day. As you know, Peppa Pig World is part of the bigger Paulton’s Park, and if you have older kids, it’s well worth extending your stay in the area to 2 days so that you can explore the 60+ rides at Paulton’s on the second day. However, if you have young kids (under 5), most of the rides at Paulton’s Park will be too grown up for them.
So, the short answer is one day is enough if you plan to visit with toddlers!
Most toddlers will only last a maximum of 5 hours at Peppa Pig World, which should be enough time to see everything and go on every ride. However, if you’re planning to visit at busy times of the year, like weekends or school holidays, the queues will be longer, so you may not get to see everything in a day.
In that case, it’s best to allow 2 days for the experience; that way, you’ll have more than enough time to explore the attached Paulton’s Park and maybe even visit the Splash Park!
If you have one day and want to pack as much in as possible, consider bringing or hiring a buggy so that the little ones can nap or rest their legs!
8. When’s the best time to visit Peppa Pig World?
Obviously, weekends and school holidays are going to be the busiest times at Peppa Pig World, so if you can (I know it’s not possible for everyone), try to visit mid-week and aim to get there as soon as it opens.
Please note that Peppa Pig World is closed for the month of January, and select dates in February, March, September, October, November, and December. Also, a small number of rides may be closed over the winter season – you can check what’s open here!
We visited on a Tuesday in December and got there for opening time (10:30 am), and it was the perfect level of quiet – not eerily so, and when we were leaving at around 2 pm, it was very busy!
A good tip is to check the park’s calendar for the days with low ticket availability – as this tells you what days will be the busiest.
There seems to be conflicting information online about what time of day is best to visit Peppa Pig World, we visited in the morning in winter, and it was lovely and quiet. However, many other visitors note that during other seasons, it tends to be busiest in the morning, so they recommend visiting in the afternoon in Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
9. What is the best age for Peppa Pig World?
Peppa Pig World is lots of fun for kids between 1 and 6. But keep in mind that some rides here, like, George’s Dinosaur Adventure have a height restriction of 85cm (2.8 feet).
If you’re visiting with younger kids (under 4), it’s best to ease them into the experience by starting off with gentler rides, such as Grandpa Pig’s Boat and Grandpa Pig’s Little Train. You can also ease them in with visits to Madame Gazelle’s schoolhouse or Peppa Pigs’ house.
10. Is Peppa Pig World expensive?
With tickets costing from £43.50 – £55.50 for anyone over 1 meter, you could say that Peppa Pig World is a tad expensive. But, when you consider your ticket gives you access to over 70 rides across both Peppa Pig World and Paulton’s Park, and the fact that parking is free, it’s quite a good deal!
11. How many rides are there in Peppa Pig World?
There are 9 rides in Peppa Pig World, including George’s Dinosaur Adventure, Grandpa Pig’s Little Train and, Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride.
The 9 rides at Peppa Pig World are:
- George’s Dinosaur Adventure

- Grandpa Pig’s Little Train
- Grandpa Pig’s Boat

As well as the above rides, kids can visit Madame Gazelle’s school, Peppa’s House, Grandpa Pigs House, Grandad Dog’s Garage, the Library, the Campervan, and the Queen’s Castle.
Plus, there’s George’s Spaceship Indoor Playzone (which has separate areas for toddlers and bigger kids), Mr. Potato’s Playground, and an outdoor splash pad called Muddy Puddle’s Splash Area.
12. What should you wear to Peppa Pig World?
In the winter months, it’s best to have the kids in waterproofs and wellies – Peppa Pig World is in rainy England, after all. For the milder months, have them in comfortable clothes and shoes – they’ll be doing a lot of walking. But, still, pack a raincoat and wellies just in case.
It’s also a good idea to pack a swimsuit and towel so they can have fun in the splash park.
13. Is Peppa Pig World indoor or outdoor?
Peppa Pig World is an outdoor theme park, all of the rides are outdoor, but some have a cover to shield you from the rain. For example, Windy Castle, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight, Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, and, Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club have a cover over your head.
The indoor play center, called George’s Spaceship Indoor Playzone, is indoor, as is Peppa’s House, Madame Gazelle’s Schoolhouse. etc.
14. Is Peppa Pig World okay in the rain?
Although less enjoyable than a bright and sunny day, you can still have fun at Peppa Pig World when it’s raining. Although all the rides are outdoors, several are covered to shield you from a downpour. A good place to escape the rain is George’s Spaceship Indoor Playzone.
15. What else is there to do at Peppa Pig World?
Muddy Puddles Splashpark
A mini water playground that’s suitable for kids under 6. However, older kids can enter the splash park if they’re accompanying a younger child.
George’s Spaceship Indoor Playzone
An indoor play center that has separate areas for different ages, George’s Spaceship Indoor Playzone boasts slides & tubes, climbing structures, slides, and a junior play area. Note that socks must be worn at all times here!
Mr Potato’s Playground
A decent-sized outdoor playground with a colorful rainbow path.
Other amenities
There are also lockers at the entrance if you need to store any larger bags. You can also hire buggies near the entrance, both singles and doubles.
16. What food options are available at Peppa Pig World?
The food options at Peppa Pig World include Daddy Pig’s Cafe, The Queen’s Kitchen, and Miss Rabbit’s Ice Cream Parlour!
At Daddy Pig’s Tummy Cafe, you can choose from hot food options like pizza slices, cornish pasties, and a vegan sausage roll. Icecreams, cakes, and beverages are also available here.
At The Queen’s Kitchen, you can choose from items like hot dogs, paninis, loaded waffles, and more. They also serve a wide variety of donuts as well as delicious ice cream sundaes.
If none of the above tickles your fancy, there are many more varied food options in Paulton’s Park!
17. What about Paulton’s Park? Should I visit there too?
Yes, if you have time, it’s well worth spending a few hours at Paulton’s Park, as there are over 60 exhilarating rides here!
For younger kids, I recommend The Lost Kingdom, Al’s Auto Academy, and Trekking Tractors. But adults or older kids will love the Stormchaser and Cyclonator!
18. Is it worth visiting Peppa Pig World?
Yes, if you have a little one who loves Peppa, then it’s 100% worth visiting Peppa Pig World!
Suitable for kids aged between 1 and 6 years, there are 9 rides here, including Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter, and more, so there’s plenty to keep them busy! As well as that, the little ones have access to an indoor play center, outdoor playground and can step inside Madame Gazelle’s Schoolhouse and Peppa Pig’s House too.
Plus, when you consider that your ticket includes access to Paulton’s Park, which has over 60 rides – visiting Peppa Pig World works out at great value for money!
